Water protection zone

Description

The designation of water protection areas (WSG) serves to protect groundwater from harmful effects and thus the drinking water resources for the public water supply. The WSGs designated/declared in accordance with § 51 of the Water Resources Act (WHG) and § 45 and § 95 of the Water Resources Act (WG) are recorded and updated - from planning to determination. The demarcation of the protected zones is carried out according to hydrogeological conditions by the State Office for Geology, Raw Materials and Mining Baden-Württemberg. A WSG can consist of up to 5 of a total of 7 different water protection zones (WSG zone): Zone I (Fassungsbereich) Zone II oder Zonen IIA und IIB (Engere Schutzzonen) Zone III oder Zonen IIIA und IIIB (Weitere Schutzzonen) Each zone has its own regulations and prohibitions, which are stipulated in the legal ordinance. The lower water authorities are responsible for the designation of water protection areas by statutory instrument. Differentiation is made according to fixed, provisionally ordered and non-fixed areas. The database published on the Internet includes the legally determined, provisionally ordered, technically delimited and in the process of fixing water protection areas as well as the determined and provisionally ordered water protection area zones in Baden-Württemberg. The official property cadastre information system (ALKIS) serves as the basis for recording the geometry data.
