Description
Acid sulphate soils 1:250 000 describes the probability of the occurrence of acid sulphate soils classified into four classes on a map basis; Large, Moderate, Small and Very Small. The maps are based on terrain studies, the results of laboratory analyses and, for example, the interpretation of aerogeophysical data and soil maps. Acid sulphate soils 1:250 000 maps show the presence of sulphate soils and the depth of the sulphide layer from the ground surface. There are two types of observing points: Research points and mapping points. A more detailed description of the research points has been made and a point card with observation data has been linked to them. The hyperlink on the scorecard is also included in the filegeodatabase level of the observation point. The 1:1 000 000 preliminary interpretation map of acid sulphate soils presents an interpretation of the occurrence areas of acid sulphate soils in Finland based on quantitative multivariate modelling.
