Indicators of demographic ageing of municipalities in the province of Lucca for the year 2020:
Old age index: n. residents 65 years and over / n. residents from 0 to 14 years.
Structural Dependency Index: (n. residents from 0 to 14 years + n. residents 65 years and over) / (n. residents from 15 to 64 years) * 100.
Structural Dependency Index a: (n. residents from 0 to 18 years + n. residents 65 years and over) / (n. residents from 19 to 64 years) * 100.
Elderly dependency ratio: (n. residents aged 65 and over) / (n. residents aged 15 to 64) * 100.
Elderly dependency ratio bis: (n. residents aged 65 and over) / (n. residents aged 19 to 64) * 100.
NB: Dependency indices "bis" use the population aged 19-64 as the denominator; They therefore provide a more plausible estimate of the (potentially productive) active base.
