LHV - Longer Heavier Vehicles

Description

LHV, Longer Heavier Vehicles, are allowed to drive in Flanders as part of a pilot project. Detailed information on the pilot project can be found on the LZV portal: https://www.vlaanderen.be/langeer-en-heavier-trucks-lzvs To be able to drive with an LHV in Flanders, you must comply with 3 things: The correct combination: LHV is a tow that consists of 3 parts, and thus has 2 pivot points. Examples are a tractor, a semi-trailer and a trailer, a tractor and 2 semi-trailer, a truck with a dolly and a semi-trailer, ... Each part of the combination is in itself a normal vehicle, the entire combination is up to 25.25 m long and may weigh up to 60T. There is a licence requirement for these vehicles. The correct driver: The driver of an LHV must have been a driver of vehicles for the CE driving licence for 5 years and how must he also have an additional certificate of competence. Using the correct route: the available routes are indicated on this map. The routes are divided into 2 types: The basic network: motorways, roads in seaports and some connecting points. Interconnection routes: a branch route may only be used to drive to a destination that lies along the branch route. There is also a third type: The withdrawn routes: a route can be withdrawn because it no longer meets the basic requirements. These routes will be removed. Tackling projects can be requested twice a year, in June and December. Each track is assessed on a few hard criteria and with and points system.
