Property, Society of Benevolence (history)
Description
In the municipality of Westerveld lies the mining colony of the Society of Welfare. These are the lands in and around the cores of Frederiksoord and Wilhelminaoord. In addition, Boschoord is part of the mining colony (this is the north-eastern plane). The grounds of the Society of Benevolence have been classified as a Belevedere territory. The province, municipality and the Society are working together on an area vision. The Rijksdienst Monumentenzorg has designated the area as a protected villagescape that has to be translated into a zoning plan in 2009.
