Land use plan of the city of Göttingen
Description
The land use plan as the “preparatory planning plan” of the city of Göttingen represents the intended land use for the entire urban area in broad lines. As a formal planning tool, it manages urban development within the municipality. Development plans, the so-called “binding planning plans”, are derived from the land use plan for sub-areas of the city, which contain more detailed determinations for the respective sub-areas. The purpose of the land use plan is to present the type of building space, open spaces, etc. of important urban use for the entire urban area with regard to the intended urban development. It must take into account the overarching objectives of spatial planning and regional planning, but must also take into account the concerns of nature and landscape and further technical planning.
