Pension gap for supplementary pension according to the Staff Regulations

Not all former employees have a supplementary pension. The graph below shows the participation in the supplementary pension for employees who have recently taken their retirement pension for each status, and of course for men and women separately. Regardless of the status, women are less likely to receive a supplementary pension than men. Women who have recently taken their pension therefore have, in each status, a supplementary pension less often than men who have recently taken their pension. But what about the differences between men and women (in terms of coverage) for workers and employees who have taken their pension and who actually have a supplementary pension? The graph above shows the average amounts by default. If we select the median amounts using the filter, we immediately notice that for all groups, the median pension gap is even higher than the average pension gap. This is a consequence of the unequal distribution of supplementary pensions. Between 2019 and 2022, the supplementary pension gap among employees who worked as employees increased from 70% to 75%. It is interesting to note that the most striking change in the difference according to status is observed in the category of worker/employee, with an increase of 9%.
