Fiber optic Rennes Métropole: pipelines/infrastructure
Description
This layer of lines represents the location of pipes hosting the fibre optic network managed by Rennes Métropole Télécom. This represents about 310 km of pipes (average from 1 to 3 ducts) belonging to various actors (communities, operators, Rennes Métropole).
Rennes Métropole has delegated to SAS Rennes Métropole Télécom the construction and operation of a high-speed electronic communications network. This involves the deployment of fibre optics and equipment to manage such a network.
A concession contract was signed on 25 July 2007 and notified on 20 September 2007 by Rennes Métropole to Rennes Métropole Télécom. The duration of the contract is 22 years. This fibre optic network is intended for professional use (dedicated fibre) and connects public sites, businesses, and telephone exchanges.
As part of the network’s compliance and reception verification, Rennes Métropole Télécom must provide Rennes Métropole annually with the entire network in GIS format.
