Two related documents are included: Final Report of Phase I of the Program and Final Report of the NET965081 project.
Document 1: Final Report of Phase I of the Programme (July 2014): It includes the design, development and results of all the work carried out during Phase I of the Program of actions to support the protection/regeneration of the aquifers of the South of Sierra de Gádor-Campo de Dalías. It includes all the activities agreed between the AAA, the IGME, ACUAMED and JCUAPA, which were designed and directed in their hydrogeological contents by the IGME. The activities entrusted to ACUAMED were implemented through various consultancies, while those entrusted to AAA were implemented by the IGME which also carried out its own activities. Phase I of the Program was defined as the one prior to the availability of desalinated water to replace part of the pumping of the lower aquifers of the Field. The document consists of 12 chapters and 13 annexes. Chapters 2 and 3 reflect the background: results and methodologies of the research carried out by the IGME on these aquifers, prior to the Programme. Chapters 4 and 5 set out the objectives and design of the Programme and Phase I respectively. The development of the work of each group of objectives of this phase is included in chapters 6, 7 and 8, while chapter 9 presents considerations on the activities carried out and chapter 10 shows a synthesis of the knowledge improvement achieved. Chapter 6.6, referring to the development of salinization processes underway in the lower aquifers (the main problem for the sustainability of the aquifers of the Field), is of particular interest. The conclusions and recommendations are part of the final chapter of the document.
Document 2: Final Report of the project "Consulting and assistance for the development of the Strategic Plan of activities of activities of support to the aquifers of the Poniente Almeriense (NET965081)". The project corresponds only to the part of the works of Phase I of the Program that was financed by the then Andalusian Water Agency and that, as mentioned, were executed by the IGME. That is why it includes citations to specific documents and chapters of the Final Report of Phase I (Document 1). The report is divided into 6 parts: the first one includes the framing and general development of the contract, and the rest reflects the development and results of each of the 5 items of the aforementioned project.
It also includes the material of the dissemination activities (book, brochure, teaching unit, posters, presentation, etc.).
