Uncut low-traffic area > 100 km²
Description
The type of object comprises large open spaces, which (yet) are not broken down by settlements and transport infrastructure. The specified criterion for a size of traffic-free spaces of more than 100 km² was taken over by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) for Baden-Württemberg.
The uncut traffic poor spaces > 100 km² (UZVR100) are of particular importance for animal species with great room requirements as well as for people seeking recreation. In Baden-Württemberg, these open spaces were rare due to the historical development of settlements, as well as the unbroken increase in land use due to growing sieges and the expansion of roads and railroads.
The UZVR100 can be described with landscape features that benefit from the extensive undisturbedness of the UZVR100. The focus here is on nature conservation functions as well as functions that promote recreation and nature experience.
