As primary altitude data, the 3D measurement data form original, irregularly distributed measuring points as well as lines and surface structures of the topographical situation, including objects permanently connected to the earth's surface or even temporarily at the time of acquisition of existing objects.
From the 3D measurement data, the Digital Terrain Model (DGM) and the Digital Surface Model (DOM) can be derived, which are characterized in their data modeling by a uniform grid (grid width and point spacing).
3D measurement data from laser scanning, which are available throughout Lower Saxony, enable the construction and offer of a high-precision DGM1 (grid width of 1.0 m and an accuracy of ±0.2 m).
