Most common construction decades for residential buildings in small areas in Turku 2018
Description
The data are based on the City of Turku’s small area statistics for 2018. The most common decades of construction in the regions have been calculated by comparing the number of residential buildings built during each decade to the total number of residential buildings in the area. This gives a percentage of each decade to two decimal places, on the basis of which the most common decade of construction is determined.
For the period 1920-2020, the year of construction of residential buildings is presented to the accuracy of the decade. Residential buildings built before this period belong to the category “before 1920”, and their exact construction year is not indicated here. Some areas (Telakka, Rahtisatama, Orjasmäki, etc.) do not have any information at all. During the 1990s and 1960s, the area was built equally from the building stock of the area (8 buildings, 33.33 % of the total number of residential buildings in the area), which is why the area has a value of “1990 and 1960”.
The material is suitable for a general examination of the Turku building stock. A more detailed analysis of the building stock and the relationships between the decades of construction in each small area can be done by studying the original data of the City of Turku.
