Third Money Flow Income at Universities
Description
This table contains information on the expenditure and financing of
research and development (R & D) in the Netherlands. When performing R & D
three sectors are identified: companies, public
research institutions and universities. This table gives figures on the
revenue obtained from contract research from the so-called third money flow
at universities. For the sake of completeness, the income has also been obtained from
other activities from the third flow of funds are displayed. The third
money flows are financing from the private sector or from the
(semi-)government, but then for specified assignments. The latter in
contrary to the general government contribution to the activities of
universities (first flow of funds) and funding from general
resources through intermediary organisations such as the Dutch organisation
for Scientific Research (second money flow).
