Humane Emergency Locations
Description
In the province, approximately 100 sites have been designated as ‘humane emergency locations’ (stand of 2021). These are sites that are severely polluted and where soil contamination in current use can pose a risk to humans. They should therefore be dealt with as soon as possible. Often these are places where companies are or have been sitting, such as chemical laundries, metalworking companies or petrol stations. There is no acute danger, but with long-term exposure there may be risks to health. Therefore, owners of the sites are informed and informed of the temporary and permanent measures needed at the sites.
