Description
This table provides an international comparison of macroeconomic conditions based on a number of basic performance indicators:
— Inflation
— Long-term interest rate
— Balance of public finances
— National debt
— Unemployment
— Openness of the economy
— Trade in goods with non-EU countries
— Container transport
These indicators provide an overall picture of a country’s international competitiveness. Macroeconomic conditions determine the basic climate in which businesses operate. Good macroeconomic conditions provide a favourable environment in which companies can function properly.
Please note: In order to make an international comparison possible, the figures presented here use internationally comparable definitions, which sometimes differ from the definitions normally used by CBS. As a result, differences can occur between these figures and national figures published elsewhere on the CBS website.
