Description
This digital overview map represents valuable areas of Lower Saxony for fauna (without avifauna). This is based on area-related data from the animal species collection programme. The data available from these areas, if they are not older than 10 years, are evaluated by animal group. If this standardised procedure reaches a certain threshold, these areas are classified as areas of value to fauna from a national perspective. All groups of animals were taken into account except for the birds, which are dealt with separately in another theme map.
