Business environment; capital goods and investments 1990-2011
Description
This table focuses on international developments in the stock of capital goods and investments. In addition to the picture for the overall economy, a breakdown has been made for ICT (Information and Communication Technology). The table covers both the physical stock of capital, its renewal or expansion by means of (foreign) investments, as well as the money capital needed to finance the investments, in particular venture capital invested. The size of capital and investment in a country is largely determined by the tendency of entrepreneurs to invest. Investment behaviour is partly determined by the business environment.
Please note: In order to enable an international comparison, the figures presented here used internationally comparable definitions, which sometimes differ from those normally used by CBS. As a result, differences can occur between these figures and national figures published elsewhere on the CBS website.
Data available from 1990 to 2011.
Status of the figures:
The external sources for this table provide regularly updated data for previous periods. For example, it often happens that countries still provide figures for older years. The reverse, that older figures are withdrawn, happens from time to time. These updated data are not identified as such in the table.
