Description
This table contains data on the number of companies and institutions by main economic activity, based on the Standard Business Classification 2008 (SBI 2008). The SBI is broken down to the lowest level in this table. The companies are further classified by company size based on the number of employees and by legal form. This is the business population of the Netherlands. The business population is a snapshot on the first day of each quarter.
As of 13 October 2023, an improved use of owner and ownership data has led to the identification of a different activity for many companies within the sector 6420 Financial holding companies.The main activities in which this group ended up are 7010 Holdings, internal group services and 7022 Organisational consultancy firms, etc.
Data available from: 1st quarter 2007.
Status of figures:
The figures up to 2022 are final, the figures for 2023 are further provisional and the figures for 2024 are provisional.
Changes as of 26 April 2024:
Data for Q2 2024 have been added. Data for 2023 and 2024 may have been adjusted based on fulfilled information.
When will there be new figures?
The figures for each quarter are published in the first month of each quarter.
