Environmental Regulation - Greenhouse horticulture

Description

Designated area for the concentration and development of greenhouse horticulture. A zoning plan allows new establishment and expansion of a greenhouse horticulture company with a glass uprising from two hectares only within a greenhouse horticulture development area. A zoning plan only allows a different function than greenhouse horticulture in a greenhouse horticulture development area if that other function contributes to the restructuring of the greenhouse horticulture sector. A zoning plan may, from 29 June 2005, authorise a one-off extension to five hectares of an existing greenhouse horticulture business outside a greenhouse horticulture development area, if it is shown in the explanatory memorandum to the zoning plan that: a. the expansion is necessary for the efficient continuation of the business; b. relocation to a greenhouse horticulture development area is not economically feasible; c. this expansion is compatible with the area qualities of nature, landscape and water that are relevant on the spot. This file was adopted by the Provincial Council on 15 November 2023 and will enter into force on 1 January 2024 under the Environment Act.
