Persons receiving unemployment benefit; gender, age, migration background
Description
This table provides insight into the number of people receiving benefits under the Unemployment Act (WW).
The data are broken down by the following personal characteristics:
- sex;
- age;
- grouping of origin.
The figures refer to the last day of the reporting month.
Data available from: January 2013.
Status of figures:
The figures as of January 2013 are final with the exception of the last three months, which are provisional.
CBS is moving to a new classification of the population by origin. From now on, it is more decisive where someone was born, in addition to where someone's parents were born. The word "migration background" is no longer used. The main classification Western/non-Western is replaced by a classification based on continents and common immigration countries. This classification is gradually introduced in tables and publications with population by origin.
This StatLine table will be replaced in the course of 2024. As of reporting month January 2024, the figures relating to migration background in this table will no longer be supplemented or updated.
The compilation of data for StatLine tables that contain breakdowns by personal characteristics is always based on the most recent data from the Basic Registration of Persons (BRP). Because different StatLine tables are updated at different times, it may happen that a different version of the BRP is used for one table than for another table. This may result in limited differences compared to other tables with the same population. In this case, the most recent published figures are the most accurate.
Changes as of 28 June 2024:
- the figures for January 2024 have become final.
- the provisional figures for April 2024 have been added.
