Renewable energy; solar power, wind power, RES region
Description
This table contains figures on the installed capacity (MW) and the production (electricity generated, million kWh) of wind energy on land and solar power, as of 2018. The data do not include the offshore windmills.
The climate agreement includes the following objective: at least 35 TWh of onshore renewable energy generation in 2030.
This declaration relates to wind and solar installations > 15 kilowatts (kW). In the Regional Energy Strategy (RES), the regional share for the national task is elaborated as concretely as possible. In order to be able to monitor the progress of this objective, an additional breakdown of the solar power installations is included in the table: small (<= 15 kW) and large (> 15 kW) power.
The figures can be broken down by province, RES and subRES region. The regional classification is always based on the municipal classification of the year in question.The installations as at 31-12-2019 are therefore shown in the regional classification of 2019, and those as at 31-12-2020 in the regional classification of 2020, etc.
This table was drawn up in the context of Vivet (improving the information provision of the energy transition) and is financed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy.

Status of figures:
This table contains final figures up to 2021 and further provisional figures for 2022 and 2023.
Changes as of 17 June 2024:
Further preliminary figures for 2023 for solar power have been adjusted for the Utrecht region.

Further provisional figures for 2023 have been added.
Changes as of December 2023:
The figures for 2021 are final and the figures for 2022 have been updated.
Changes as of 15 June 2023:
The 2021 figures have been updated for onshore wind and the further preliminary 2022 figures for onshore wind and solar have been added.
When will there be new figures:
Preliminary figures for the previous year are published each year in June. These figures will then be revised in December and will remain provisional.
Final figures appear in November in the second year following the year under review.
