Reference Network (Control Natural Conditions Changes)
Description
This control allows to establish specific reference conditions for each type of body of water. The latter is an essential requirement for the determination of ecological status, since, by comparison with these conditions, the results obtained in the monitoring programmes can be assessed. It also allows the assessment of long-term trends in the state of water bodies due to changes in natural conditions. The parameters that are checked in these sampling stations correspond to representative indicators of all biological quality elements (phytoplankton, other aquatic flora, macroinvertebrates, fish), hydromorphological and physicochemical.
