Historical geography — natural watercourses
Description
Resistant to natural and former natural watercourses. At first, all the waters in Fryslân served the natural drainage, or at least were part of it. Rivers, natural channels and gazeboes, sea arms, lakes and lakes (water lakes in a high peat area) belonged to it. These waters of natural origin are included on the map, both the still existing and the now disappeared watercourses. In order to improve drainage and the possibilities for transport, many natural watercourses have been channeled over time.
