Greenhouse gas emissions (IPCC); climate sector, quarter
Description
This table contains quarterly and annual figures on Dutch emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases (laugh gas (N2O), methane (CH4) and fluorinated gases). These are emissions figures broken down into six climate sectors (Industry, Electricity, Mobility, Built Environment, Agriculture and Land Use), as used in the Dutch Climate Agreement, and in accordance with the internationally established IPCC regulations. The IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) is a United Nations organisation that draws up reports on scientific knowledge about climate change.

Status of the figures:
The figures corresponding to the four quarters of 2022 have provisional status, as are the 2022 annual figure. The first three quarters of 2023 are also provisional. The four quarters of 2019, 2020 and 2021 and the 2019 and 2021 annual figures have definitive status.
In order to achieve a coherent and consistent time series, all emission figures shall be recalculated annually (including those with a final status, in accordance with IPCC requirements), so that the latest insights, in particular as regards emission factors, can be included in the recalculation. The annual recalculation takes place when the 4th quarter of the most recent reporting year is published (mid March).
Amendments as of 13 December 2023:
The figures corresponding to the third quarter of 2023 have been added.
When will there be new figures?
New preliminary quarterly figures will be published two and a half months after the end of the quarter.
