Energy performance certificates for buildings - building characteristics
Description
The Certificate of Energy Performance (APE, or also, commonly, "energy certificate") is a document that certifies the performance and energy class of a building and indicates the most convenient improvement measures. Through the EPA, the citizen becomes aware of characteristics such as the energy needs of the building or building unit, the energy quality of the building, carbon dioxide emissions and the use of renewable energy sources, which affect the management costs and the environmental impact of the building, and is guided towards an informed choice in the case of purchase, rental or recovery (renovation or redevelopment).
Energy performance is the amount of energy needed to meet annually the needs related to a standard use of the building for heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic hot water production and, in non-residential buildings, also for lighting, lifts and escalators.
The dataset represents the number of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) divided by volume, municipality and year.
