Description
The national government has designated 20 National Landscapes in the Space Note. Two of them are in Fryslân: Southwest Frislân and Northern Forests. National Landscapes are areas with internationally rare or unique and nationally distinctive landscape qualities and are associated with special natural and recreational qualities.
The aim is to preserve the landscape, cultural history and natural qualities of the Landscapes, to sustainably manage and strengthen where possible. In this context, the tourist significance should also increase.
