Pension entitlements; singles and parents single-parent households, 2005-2012
Description
This table provides insight into the accrued and attainable pension entitlements of persons without a partner aged 15 to 65 who are resident in the Netherlands. Only the pension entitlements of the single person or the parent are included in a single parent household. In short, the claims of children living at home do not count. Institutional households and other households are also not included in this statistics.
In the Netherlands, the pension system consists of three parts, which are called pillars. The first pillar is the collective old-age pension resulting from the General Old Age Act (AOW). The second pillar is the collective work-related pension accrual. The third pillar covers individual products of insurers. These can be closed to complement (deficiencies in) the first and second pillars. Data on the third pillar are not (yet) included in the pension entitlement statistics.
In addition to the aforementioned pillars, the assets of individuals such as savings and real estate can be used as retirement provision.
All reported amounts are gross per year and rounded to EUR 100 and relate to averages per person. Pension entitlements reflect the status of 31 December. The selections have the last Friday before Christmas as the reference date.

When will there be new figures?
When supplementing the data for 2013 and 2014, the methodology for compiling the pension entitlement statistics was examined in more detail. It was found that the publication of detailed data for this statistics is no longer justified. The series has therefore been discontinued.
