ICEARAGON Web Coverage Service (WCS)
Description
The Web Coverage Service (WCS) is defined by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), in order to allow the obtaining of geospatial data in the form of geographic information coverages that represent phenomena of spatial variation, so that they serve for graphical representation or as input data for scientific models. The standard defines three basic operations: GetCapabilities, DescribeCoverage and GetCoverage.
A WCS client is able to download raster data, with the unique feature that the server returns an image that carries the information of the attributes included. The integration of the icearagon WCS service can be done both from Web environments and from GIS clients, both commercial and free software.
The following information is initially being disseminated through this WCS service:
- Digital Terrain Model (MDT):5 m.
- Digital Terrain Model (MDT):20 m.
- Orientations Map:20 m.
- Map of Earrings: 20 m. in degrees and percentage
