Description
The National Register is the information processing system that ensures the registration, storage and communication of identification data of individuals. The National Register is therefore a central database in which the following groups are registered: - all Belgians residing in Belgium; - all Belgians residing abroad who have registered in the population registers kept in the diplomatic missions or consular posts abroad; - all foreign nationals residing in Belgium who are authorised to settle or reside in Belgium; - all foreigners (and their family members) who declare themselves to be 'refugees' or who ask to be recognised as 'refugees'.
