Swiss Operation Classification (CHOP)

Description

As part of medical statistics, all hospital stays in Switzerland are recorded annually in all hospitals and clinics in Switzerland. The survey includes, among other things, the diagnoses and treatments of each patient. In order to further process this information, it is encoded. For this purpose, two medical classifications are used, the ICD-10-GM for the diagnoses and the CHOP for the treatments. The coding of diagnoses and treatments is subject to precise guidelines. The field of medical coding and classifications of the BFS edits, reviews and adapts these guidelines at most, maintains the above-mentioned classifications and supports all those involved in coding. This alphabetical list is based on the systematic list of CHOP 2021. This version of the alphabetical directory — version 2021 — is valid from 1 January 2021. The CHOP 2021 alphabetical directory is available in three languages (German, French and Italian). The PDF version appears in one volume per language and can be obtained directly on the website of the BFS. The printed paid paper version appears in two volumes per language and can be ordered via the BFS website.
