Description
The medical statistics of hospital establishments annually record all cases of hospitalisation in Switzerland. The detection includes the diagnoses and treatments of all patients. The information is encoded in order to be reprocessed. This is done with the help of two medical classifications, the ICD-10 for diagnosis and the CHOP for treatments. The codification of diagnosis and treatment is subject to precise directives. The Medical Coding and Classifications Department of the UST draws up and controls these directives by making any adjustments, also manages the aforementioned classifications and provides assistance for codification. The version published in November of the alphabetical index ICD-10-GM 2020 is the valid version that will enter into force on 1 January 2021. In 2021, the ICD-10-GM 2021 is in force in Switzerland. The ICD-10-GM 2021 systematic index was published on 22 December 2020. The alphabetical index of ICD-10-GM 2021 has not been published. Please use the alphabetical index of ICD-10-GM 2020 completed by the update list 2020–2021 of the systematic index.
