Description
Hospital medical statistics are based on an annual survey of all hospitalisations in all hospitals and clinics in Switzerland. The survey covers in particular the diagnoses and treatments of each patient. The data, in order to be processed, are coded using two medical classifications: ICD-10-GM for diagnostics and CHOP for treatments. The coding of diagnoses and treatments follows specific guidelines. The field of medical coding and medical classifications of the OFS drafts, revises and adapts these guidelines as necessary, takes care of the maintenance of classifications and the support of the persons responsible for coding. This publication was based on the 2018 version of the ICD-10-GM systematic index in French and the translation of ICD-10-GM 2020 published by the Deutsches Institut für Medizinische Dokumentation und Information (DIMDI). Due to the entry into force in 2021 of ICD-10-GM 2021, the PDF of the French version of the systematic index of ICD-10-GM 2020 can no longer be downloaded. On the other hand, the printed version can always be ordered.
