National EU reference laboratory for air pollutants
Description
In accordance with the Measurement Concept Ordinance, a calibration workshop for operators of the Austrian air quality networks takes place annually at the Federal Environment Agency. This offers the opportunity to compare and calibrate the respective standards for air pollutants with those of the Federal Environment Agency as a national EU reference laboratory, thereby ensuring their traceability. For ozone, the deviations between the Federal Environment Agency's standard and those of the participating measurement network operators were in most cases less than one percent. Differences of up to 5% were found for sulphur dioxide and up to 1.6% for nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide. As part of the workshop, the flow rate of measuring devices was also calibrated. In addition, film sets for radiometric fine dust measuring instruments were compared with a reference film set of the Federal Environment Agency.
