Estimation of the health effects of suspended dust in Austria
Description
Numerous studies in recent years have shown a link between exposure to particulate matter and health effects. These effects range from (temporary) impairments of lung function to relatable deaths, mainly due to respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. According to a recent assessment by the World Health Organization (WHO), outdoor air pollution is one of the environmental influences that cause the greatest health effects in Western industrialized countries.
