WLZ care in kind; expenditure/volume based on declarations; form of delivery
Description
This table contains cumulative quarterly figures on the expenditure and volume of long-term care chargeable to the Long-term Care Act (WLZ). The figures refer to care in kind, not care paid for from personal budgets.
The figures are broken down by form of care and care-gravity package (ZZP) and form of care. For the forms of stay and full package at home, the care-gravity package is further broken down into stays with or without day care and treatment; this breakdown is not made for the other basic services of residence and forms of care. The delivery form part-time accommodation will be available from 2020. With the delivery form modular package at home, the figures are not broken down into with or without daytime activities and treatment. For the forms of accommodation, part-time accommodation and full package at home, the expenditure is broken down by type of care.
The figures come from the Zorginstituut and are based on approved declarations at person level that are forwarded by the care offices via Vektis.
The figures in this table are a continuation of the tables 'Care in kind; Expenditure/volume based on declarations’ and ‘Care packages’; expenditure/volume based on declarations' (see paragraph 3), which included figures on AWBZ/Wlz expenditure and volume of care in kind for the period 2010 to 2019, and were based on declarations of realised care by healthcare institutions to healthcare offices, from the Zorginstituut Nederland. Due to the transition to a new data source, there may be a trend break between the discontinued and new tables.
Data available from: 2018
For 2018 and 2019, only data for the period January-December (i.e. annual figures) are available; cumulative quarterly figures for parts of the year will be published from January to June 2020.
Status of figures:
The figures for 2022 and 2023 are provisional, the remaining figures are definitive.
Changes as of 20 March 2024:
Provisional figures covering the period January to December 2023 have been added.
When will there be new figures?
Preliminary figures for the period January to March 2024 will be published in the third quarter of 2024.
