Carbon-rich soils in Lower Saxony 1: 50 000 with relevance for climate protection without sealed surfaces (WMS Service)
Description
The map of carbon-rich soils with climate change mitigation implications shall include sites with special protection needs (‘maintenance’) or sites with a potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (‘development’). The relevant units of BK50 were grouped into concise categories: High bog, low bog, moorgley, organo marsh with low bog cover, sand deck culture as well as soils with flat layered peat. In addition, the areas with more than 30% sealing and carbon-rich soils with little importance for climate protection were removed.
