Description

This table provides data on sick leave of workers aged 15 to 75, by employment relationship, working hours and occupational level. This also includes employees who are employed but do not perform work due to illness, maternity leave or other temporary career breaks. Furthermore, the table also includes data on the last absenteeism of employees. This default case may have been more than 12 months ago. As of the reporting year 2022, the way in which data for the NEA were collected and processed differs in some respects from previous reporting years. As a result, the figures from 2022 may not be comparable in all cases with the figures up to 2021. More information is available in the NEA 2022 study description (see paragraph 4). Data available from: 2014. Status of figures: Figures in this table are final. Changes as of 21 May 2024: Annual figures for 2023 have been added. Changes as of 16 June 2022: If the number of sample subjects for a given target population is less than 200, no results are presented in these StatLine tables due to excessive margins. For the reporting years 2014 to 2020, the results on the subject of ‘Employees who have been absent’ were mistakenly based on the size of the total group of employees. This has been corrected. A number of figures relating to the subject ‘Employees who have been absent from work’ have been replaced by a bullet point. In addition, the figures for 2014 to 2020 have been corrected. In the previous version, persons with SBI code ‘88990’ were mistakenly included in the Youth Care sector in the years 2014 to 2020, while underlying SBI codes can be counted under different branches. With this correction, persons with SBI code 88990 are no longer counted to the Youth Care (but to non-AZW). In addition, in the figures for the year 2020, a number of ‘broad’ SBI codes were counted to specific ASBL branches, while the underlying SBI codes can be counted to different branches. The persons with these broad SBI codes are also no longer included in the AZW branches in this version. Finally, annual figures for 2021 have been added. Changes as of 20 May 2021: Annual figures for 2020 have been added. The figures for 2014 to 2019 have been corrected. In the previous version, persons who have reached the age of 75 during the fieldwork were mistakenly not included. With this correction, these persons are taken into account. When will there be new figures? Figures for the previous year shall be published by May at the latest.
