Identification network for areas polluted with nitrate in accordance with § 13a DüV (12/2022) and § 4 AVV GeA
Description
The Excel table lists all groundwater quality assessment points of the WFD and EEA/nitrate measurement network NRW that have been used for the designation of the "red" areas polluted with nitrate and for the immission-based delimitation of polluted / unpolluted subareas within the affected groundwater bodies (status: 12/2022). Measuring stations without agricultural influence, which have a nitrate or nitrate input concentration above the groundwater threshold or an increasing nitrate trend, are not included in the table, as they are not taken into account in the area designation according to AVV GeA. The sheet shall contain the following information: - 9-digit official measuring point number and name of the measuring point - Municipality and district in which the measuring point is located - Groundwater body (ID and name) to which the measuring point is assigned during monitoring - Location coordinates (for data protection reasons, the last two places are omitted) - Dominant land use influence in the inflow area of the measuring point - Information on whether a continuously increasing nitrate trend currently exists at the measuring point in the period 2009-2018 according to GrwV (yes/no) and whether a nitrate value > 37.5 mg/l is present at the same time - Average of the maximum values MWMxJW1619 (nitrate; mg/l) of the years 2016-2019 to the measuring point - nitrate input concentration (mg/l) in the period 2016-2019, if available (in the case of several measurements, the mean is used). This is based on measurements of the parameter ‘excess N2 (converted to nitrate in mg/L)’ and the ‘nitrate concentration’ as a sum of the same groundwater sample. The data is available in ELWAS-web. The nitrate input concentration corresponds to the nitrate concentration before denitrification in groundwater. The excess N2 (N2 formed by excess nitrate degradation) is determined using the N2/Ar method. - Relevant value from which the information is to be derived as to whether the delineation of contaminated/uncontaminated subareas MWMxJW1619 or nitrate input concentration is decisive. - Information on whether or not the measuring point is relevant for the designation of ‘red field blocks’. This is the case for agriculturally influenced measuring points where the nitrate value (MWMxJW1619) or the nitrate input concentration is greater than 50 mg/l, and for agriculturally influenced measuring points where there is an increasing nitrate trend and the nitrate value (MWMxJW1619) is 37.5 mg/l or greater. In addition to the data table (table ‘AWMN_2022_11’), the Excel file contains a table to explain the attributes (table ‘Data information’) and a table with information on groundwater bodies (table ‘GWK table’).
