REDIAM. WMS Map of the strategic areas of the Master Plan for the Improvement of Ecological Connectivity in Andalusia
Description
WMS service corresponding to the identification of strategic areas proposed in the Master Plan for the improvement of ecological connectivity in Andalusia. These areas have included the calculation of Indices of Terrestrial Ecological Connectivity (ICTA), both general and by large types of landscapes (independent or unified in different groups and associations); the identification and assessment of ecological axes and corridors at regional level; analysis of fragmentation effects caused by the presence of existing and planned terrestrial infrastructures or associated with dispersion of urban patterns and strong habitat transformations; and the general assessment of the availability and state of the elements that can most favour the diversification of agricultural and forest-based landscapes and, in general, promote the increase of the permeability of the entire territorial matrix (areas of opportunity such as banks, public forests, livestock roads, island forests and isolated forest enclaves, etc.). All these levels of diagnosis have allowed an approximation to the patterns of fragmentation that occur in the Autonomous Community and their effects on ecological connectivity, through global and integrative approaches that until now had not been implemented, at regional level, in Andalusia.
