List of information boards for historical monuments

Description

The data record contains the addresses, textual descriptions and the locations of the blue information boards on art and cultural-historical protected objects in the city of Zurich. The panels can be attached to buildings, building parts, fountains, bridges, etc. The prerequisite for the installation of a blue board is usually the formal protection position of the object. The monument protection boards refer to one or more art and cultural-historical protected objects and are partly also attached to non-inventory objects. Sometimes several panels are also mounted on one object. There is therefore no 1:1 relation to the record of the monument inventory. Georeferencing was also carried out independently and according to different points of view. The location of the panels was only precisely recorded in individual cases, often one of several addresses of the described object was used. A later logical combination with the monument inventory is conceivable. **Purpose**: Publication of an overview of the existing monuments in the city of Zurich. Working instrument in the field of archaeology & Preservation of monuments of the Office for Urban Planning (AfS).
