Size of the travel company by means of accommodation
Description
The Statistics Incoming Tourism (SIT) provides insight into the
activities, motives, length of stay and expenditure of foreign countries
tourists in the Netherlands. The previous study was carried out in 1999.
For the current study, the observation took place in the period
from week 12-2 005 to week 11-2006.
The research focuses on foreign tourists with at least one
overnight stay in a Dutch accommodation. As a result
fall day tourists and tourists staying with family or friends
outside the target population. Persons who spend more than 60 nights in one
accommodation is also not included in the target population.

The SIT is based on a partnership between Dutch
Office for Tourism and Congresses (NBTC) as client,
Blue Research (scrutiny) and CBS (consultation questionnaire,
sampling, processing and raising).
