Description

This table contains key figures on the settlement of cases in civil law, administrative law and criminal law. The judgments in civil law are subdivided into summons and petition proceedings by the courts (canton and civil sector sector), courts and Supreme Courts. The rulings on administrative law are broken down by courts, sector administrative law, Central Board of Appeal, Council of State Department of Administrative Jurisdiction, Courts (tax chamber), Supreme Council (tax chamber) and the Board of Appeal for Business. Criminal law governs how to deal with acts that have been punished. A distinction is made between canton criminal cases (infringements) and court criminal cases (crimes). The proceedings are published by the Public Prosecution Service, the settlements by the judge and the orders of the Central Judicial Incassobureau on the basis of the Law on Administrative Enforcement of Traffic Regulations (Law Mulder, minor traffic offences). Data available from: 1995 Status of the figures: The figures of criminal justice for the most recent reporting year are provisional and the remaining figures are final. The figures in the table of civil justice are definitive figures. However, it happens occasionally that figures will be revised later, as new information becomes available. If this is the case, this new information will be taken into account by CBS. The figures on administrative law are final for all years. Changes as of 2 July 2018: None, this table has been discontinued. When will there be new figures? No longer applicable.
