The pension gap for the supplementary pension under the pension scheme

Not all former employees, self-employed persons and/or civil servants have a supplementary pension. The graph below shows the participation in the supplementary pension of men and women who have recently taken their retirement pension by scheme or combination of schemes. Women who have recently retired are therefore less likely to have a supplementary pension than men who have recently retired, in all schemes. But what about the differences between men and women (in terms of coverage) according to the scheme for people who have recently taken their pension and who actually have a supplementary pension? The chart below shows the pension gap of the supplementary pension for people who have recently taken their retirement pension by scheme. Over a four-year period, the chart below highlights the evolution of the pension gap by scheme (bar), compared to the evolution of the pension gap observed in the general population (row). To better understand who is receiving a supplementary pension or not and the possible reasons for the pension gap, we divide recent pensioners according to their scheme (employee, self-employed, civil servant), age and marital status. For people with only an employee career, we also look at the situation according to certain career characteristics.
