Educational institutions; size, type, philosophical basis
Description
This table contains results for each school/study year on educational institutions (schools) distinguished by type of education, philosophical basis (denomination) and size (number of pupils/students). This is government-funded education.
The types of secondary general adult education (VAVO) and basic education have been omitted from this table because the correct number of educational establishments cannot be determined.
As of the academic year 2015/'16, this table also includes the number of students enrolled in certain designated institutions for higher education: the Theological Universities and the University of Humanistic Studies
Data available from: school/study year 1990/91
Status of figures:
The figures for the school/study years 1990/91 to 2022/23 are final and those for the school/study year 2023/24 are provisional.
Amendments as of 31 May 2024:
The final figures for the school/study year 2022/'23 and the provisional figures for the school/study year 2023/'24 have been added.
When will there be new figures?
In the third quarter of 2025, the final figures for the school/study year 2023/'24 and the provisional figures for the school/study year 2024/'25 will be available.
