Wood slings and woodwalls
Description
This file contains wood slings and wood walls of the province.
In Westerwolde, the Gorecht and in the landscape of the Southern Westerkwartier there are wood slings and wood walls. They contribute to the variety and contrast between the open and enclosed areas and thus to the diversity of the landscape. They are line-shaped plants with trees and/or shrubs. These elements often form boundaries of plots or are partitions with a different function. Roughly two types can be distinguished: plantings that stand on an artificial earthen waltz (woodwall) and plantings that are at the same height as the surrounding land (woodsingel).
