Accommodation; capacity, accommodations, beds, region
Description
This table gives an overview of the capacity (number of accommodations, berths and rooms) in the Netherlands at all hotels, motels, guest houses, apartments with hotel services, youth accommodations and bed & breakfasts with at least 5 berths, at all campsites with at least 4 tourist pitches and on cottage sites and in group accommodations with at least 10 berths. The data are available by type of accommodation per district, province, COROP area, tourist area and 5 large municipalities.

Status of figures:
The figures for 2023 are further provisional, the figures for 2024 are provisional and the figures for other years are definitive.

Provisional figures for May 2024 have been added.

Provisional figures for September and October 2023 have been added.
Despite the carefulness with which the figures and previous publications for the accommodation units have been compiled, it has unfortunately been found that the published figures for the reporting periods from April 2022 to August 2023 are not correct.
CBS has therefore published improved figures on accommodation for the months of April 2022 to October 2023.
The corresponding improved quarterly figures and the annual figure for 2022 have also been published.
Changes as of 14 November 2023:
Despite the care with which the figures and the previous publications for the accommodation units have been compiled, it has unfortunately been found that the published figures for the reporting periods after March 2022 are not correct due to a technical error. Statistics Netherlands (CBS) investigates the influence of this technical error on the results of this statistic and other statistics that use this statistic.
On the basis of this survey, CBS will publish improved figures on accommodation on 11 December. This concerns the months of April 2022 to October 2023 and the corresponding quarters. This means that the publication already planned for 14 November (reporting month September) will be postponed for a few weeks.
When will there be new figures?
The figures for a new reporting month are available within 3 months after the end of that month and are given the status 'provisional'.
The figures for the whole year are revised 1 month after the publication of the month of December and are then given the status 'further provisional'.
Two months later, the figures are given the status 'definitive'.
