Description
Dissemination of the hydrogeological classification of hydrogeological units as specialist layers of the hydrogeological map 1:500 000. Zoom limit min. 1:1 000 000 to max. 1:200 000.
The hydrogeological classification of the near-surface hydrogeological units is based on the type of cavity (pores, clefts, karst cavities) and the permeability of the various loose rock and solid rock aquifer types or low conductors.
The colouring of the units should only be taken as a general indication of the potential groundwater flow; For example, morphologically higher parts of the units are usually groundwater-free. A separate representation of the near-surface loosening area, in which the otherwise low permeable solid rocks also lead groundwater to a limited extent, is not possible for scale reasons.
The technical basis for the classification of hydrogeological units is the hydrogeological overview map of Germany in scale 1:200,000 (HÜK200), which was prepared for the Bavarian share in the years 2000 to 2003 by the former Bavarian Geological Office in cooperation with the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) in Hanover. Geometry and legend units are designed for a viewing scale of 1:500,000 (1 cm on a map corresponds to 5 km in nature) and are generally highly generalized. The HK 500 is intended as a basis for larger-scale considerations, it does not replace detailed studies and assessment by a specialist office in the planning of local projects.
