Climate change adaptation in Austria
Description
Adaptation to climate change is, in addition to climate protection, the most important pillar of climate policy. In order to counter the effects of climate change, measures to adapt to climate change are therefore also necessary. In 2009, the Federal Environment Agency conducted an online survey on the website www.klimawandelanpassung.at over a period of four months in order to obtain assessments and opinions of the population on the topic of climate change and adaptation to climate change. 1162 contributions were evaluated. The results show that action is needed at different levels - from politics to the individual. In addition to the detailed presentation of the results, the report describes how the survey is integrated into the participation process for the preparation of the strategy for adaptation to climate change.
