INSPIRE - BFD50 - INSPIRE - BFD50: Field capacity in rootable soil space

INSPIRE version of the BFD50. The soil overview map in scale 1:50.000 (BK50) provides an overview of the distribution of soil and soil-forming substrates for the entire area of Rhineland-Palatinate. The near-surface subsurface is depicted to a depth of two metres. Due to the scale, the legend units of the soil map are composed of soil form societies (BFG), which are described via several use-differentiated soil forms (BF). Documentation of methods:The field capacity (FK) of a soil or the individual soil horizon is the amount of water that it can retain against gravity after sufficient saturation (according to the convention at suction voltage pF >= 1.8). It is expressed in mm and calculated for the respective width of a horizon, then added up and classified in relation to 100 cm depth or the rootable soil space (dB). The method reproduces the representative FK of the respective depth level.
