Outflow Normalised Total Nitrogen Freight from the German Baltic Sea Basin 2021 (Dataset)
Description
The outflow normalised total nitrogen cargo for the Baltic Sea catchment area for the reporting year 2021 was calculated on the basis of a method according to HELCOM PLC-8 (Helsinki Commission PLC-8). Each year, HELCOM Member States undertake to calculate and report the flow-normalised freight data for the eutrophication parameter of total nitrogen for their respective Baltic basin basins on the basis of hydrological data from the outflow and cargo of the respective rivers of the catchment area. The data set contains the drain-normalised total nitrogen loads mapped to the respective catchment areas. The catchment areas are available as georeferenced polygons. Additional descriptive attributes are the name of the catchment area and the corresponding Baltic Sea section to the catchment area. The underlying hydrological primary data are from the State Offices for Nature and Environment Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Schleswig-Holstein. The spatial data of the catchment areas to HELCOM are from HELCOM (Helsinki Commission).
